The International Scholars of the Western Network

The International Scholars of the Western Network brings together scholars, writers and media practitioners who have an interest in the Western in all of its multifarious forms.  The network grew out of the Current Thinking on the Western conferences and associated events that Lee Broughton convened while working on his Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship’s three year research project, ‘Interpreting representations of “North” and “South” in the Spaghetti West’.  The network serves to bring together likeminded enthusiasts in order to facilitate writing, publishing, media production, research and conference-related opportunities.

If you would like to join the network please e-mail us at outlining the nature of your interest in – and your engagement with – the Western. Alternatively, if you would simply like to keep up to date with announcements made by the network, please sign up for e-mail notifications using the “follow via e-mail” function found at the top of the sidebar on the left hand side of this page.
