In collaboration with Screen Seven and in association with Jeremy Wooding, Lee Broughton programmed and introduced a screening of The Magnificent Eleven (Jeremy Wooding, UK, 2013).

A Western-inflected comedy drama about a Sunday league football team whose members come into conflict with local gangsters, The Magnificent Eleven is packed with in-jokes and references that are aimed squarely at Western aficionados. The knowing turn by Robert Vaughn as the film’s chief villain is indicative of the show’s affectionate tone.

The screening took place at Screen Seven in Leeds on 3 August 2017.
