In collaboration with the 26th Leeds International Film Festival, Lee Broughton programmed and introduced a double bill of classic Italian Westerns: Django (Sergio Corbucci, Italy/Spain, 1966) and Django Kill! (Giulio Questi, Italy/Spain, 1967). The double bill was a timely celebration of the numerous “Django” movies that had been produced during the 1960s and 1970s. These films were the subject of much public discourse in 2012 thanks to the buzz surrounding Quentin Tarantino’s (then soon to be released) Django Unchained (USA, 2012). The screenings took place at the Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds on 6 November 2012.
